A table to have you understand are leveling systemSINGLE BATTLESTie/Surrender | Winner is 1 or more levels lower than opponent | Both are equally matched | Winner is 1 or more levels higher than opponent | Both parties gain no levels | Winner gains three levels
Loser gains one level | Winner gains two levels
Loser gains one level | Winner gains one level
Loser gains one level |
So when battling you obtain two moves in one turn which can be used like so:
- One status move and one damage move
- One damage move (to attack) and another (to dodge an incoming attack, or block)
- Status move (to boost self) and another (to effect opponent)
When a pokemon switches out it may not attack as the switching takes up one "move turn", but it may use a status move.
One may not dodge an attack more than three times in a row. So once you have dodged a move you must let the next attack hit. This prevents infinite dodging among battles.
