Name: Joey Katica
Gender: Female
Age: 17
PC Box: Click
Class: Warrior- swordman tree
Appearance: Joey seems a little short with such a large sword. She stands at about 5’5 with a fairly wiry build from years of training. Her skin is a light creamy tan that tends to only go darker in the hottest of summers. Her shockingly red hair contrasts beautifully with her equally bright blue eyes. She mostly keeps her long red hair up in a messy ponytail.
In warmer weather she tends to wear a short black tank top that shows her midriff with a yellow fishnet top over it. She also wears a long pair of black shorts that are cut out on the sides and laced up with red straps. There are green looped belts hanging off her shorts and some that go over her shoulders to hold her sword to her back. She also wears black combat boots with red straps around them.
In colder weather her shorts are replaced with identical pants, the only difference is that is has no slits down it sides though it still has the red laced straps going down the sides. She also wears a long dark red tight trench coat type jacket.
The sword she caries across her back is the sword that once belonged to her own mother. It may seem a tad large but it fits easily in her hands. To her the blade seems as light as a feather, when in truth it is really quite heavy. It is a sword that holds many secrets that not even it’s current owner knows. The sword knows the truth within its wielders heart, her deepest secrets and her greatest wish. A wish that Joey would do anything to make come true. A chance for her father to get to see his true love one last time.
Personality: With a temper as fiery as her blazing locks, it is unwise to anger this little sword wielder. Anger her and you are surely to ether taste the wrath of her blade or even her boot. She will often just go running into things without thinking. She mostly relies on her pokemon to tell her when something is a bad idea. She is quite blunt and will say exactly what she is thinking. Joey doesn’t realize people aren’t normally so blunt and straight forward all the time. She has a very strong sense of right and wrong, mostly if you are bad you need to get your sorry butt kicked. She is also a very curious person, her pokemon are in for a tough time to keep her out of trouble.
From her years of being raised by her father and older brothers, Joey is nothing but a tomboy. You will never be able to get her into a dress. She would rather run around naked than wear a dress. Joey may seem a little immature at times, but when it really counts she is the one to call. Deep in her heart she has a wish, not for herself but for her father. She sees the pain in his eyes and heart and wants to bring him happiness once more. Joey would even gladly give up her life to make her wish come true.
History: Joey group up under the shadow of a volcano in a relatively small warriors village. She was raised by her father and her three older brothers. Her mother died when she was still very young and had no memories of her. Her father told her that she had her mothers beautiful bright blue eyes the same color as the ocean she used to live by before meeting her husband. She had lived along the coast when she met Joey’s father and had fallen in love at first sight. Her father would tell her it was his bright red hair that had really gotten her attention at first. Joey had gotten her father and brothers same hair, though her mothers eyes always set her apart from the rest of her family.
Her father and older brothers did their best to raise her, but their efforts resulted in their little sister a major tomboy. They completely ruined her chances of ever being girly in the future. The only things her brothers knew about were being guys and training to be knights. They all kind of winged it with the difference in the sexes and just went ahead to include her in their training. She learned everything about swordsmanship from her older brothers and her father. Soon enough she was just as good as they were.
When she was old enough her father let her go to the forest at the base of the volcano to find herself a pokemon partner. Everyone in her village would go there was they had come of age. They would have to prove their strength before a pokemon would choose to join them. Most would come out with only one pokemon but when Joey emerged from the forest two pokemon followed after her. One was a young starly whose feathers were dark grey and black. The other pokemon was a ponyta with dark red flames and dark tan fur. Both were quite fierce looking but suited Joey perfectly.
After that she continued her training, this time with the two pokemon by her side. Joey named the young ponyta Rogue but most of the villagers would refer to him as ‘Blood Mane’ because of the dark red flames that ran across his length. The young starly she named Dusk for is shadowy feathers and his skill at flying at night. The three quickly excelled together and when they heard the call of arms from the King they were quick to volunteer themselves in the upcoming war. Her brothers tried to stop her, but it was hard to argue with determined young woman with such a fiery temper. When they knew they could do nothing to change her mind they gave her their blessings and prayers for her safety.
Her father did the same, but also gave her a special gift. It was a sword though a sword like no other. It was the sword her father had made for her mother. The shining metal seemed to glow with a glue light from within, like a crystal with the beauty and power of the ocean trapped within it. Its long cherry wood hilt had three bands of silver running down its length. Her father said that if her hand the blade became one then the sword would burn with the strength of her own heart.
RP Sample: Joey kneeled in the middle of the clearing, her head bowed down and her fingers wrapped around the hilt of her sword. In front of her lay her mother’s grave. A small crescent shaped pond circled protectively around the small grave, a simple marker in its center. Her mother had grown up surrounded by water so her father thought it only fair that she was surrounded by it even in death. It seemed that the pokemon even knew that this was a sacred place. The water was always crystal clear and no weeds grew close to her mothers grave. Often she would even see a pokemon leave a small gift before crescents opening. Her mother had always been kind to the wild pokemon and it was now that she was gone that they returned the favor. Behind her Rogue and Dusk stood with their heads bowed as well. They had never met the woman Joey called mother, but they had heard of her from many of the other pokemon. They could easily see the kindness in the late woman’s heart for it was reflected in the eyes of her daughter.
Joey lifted up her head and smiled sadly at the grave. She would miss coming her to sit with her mother, but it was time for her to leave. As she rose to her feet her two pokemon did as well. Joey’s form reflected back at her from the crystal clear pool as she said her final goodbyes. “One day Mom, I’ll make it come true.” At those words a light wind teased at her hair, though not a blade of grass moved in the clearing. Her smile grew slightly as the slight scent of the sea wafted around her. Their village was far from any ocean in the realm. As she turned her back on the grave and walked away with her two pokemon in tow she knew one thing. That no matter what happened, her mother would be beside her no matter what.
